Buckwild Innovations

We originally met Buck Adams back in 2013 through his father Darrell, who was one of our early website clients. Darrell runs a chartered fishing service as a side business and needed a website to bring exposure to his service. By trade, Buck and Darrell are cattle ranchers and as such they are always looking for an easier way to do things. Together they invented a product called the hay spear ring mover. This innovative product helps save time, money, and additional resources when feeding cattle and horses.

Challenge

When Buck first approached us about taking his product to market, we immediately identified his primary problem – he had an entirely new product in a niche market. The ranching community wouldn’t know such a product existed, considering nothing like it had been introduced before. To compound the problem, the business was new and building from the ground up – Buckwild Innovations did not have any brand awareness or customers.

Solution

As a new business, Buckwild Innovations needed a multitude of marketing services. We got right to work developing a strategy for his unique business.

Branding – With a new business comes a new brand. Through talking with Buck, we quickly realized this first product wouldn’t be his last. Sure enough, he now sells multiple products. The name “Buckwild Innovations” left us plenty of room to be creative.

At the beginning of any logo creation, we meet with the client for a Creative Strategy meeting in which we discuss ideas for creating a targeted logo design. The way the process normally goes, we present the client with several logo concepts.  With Buckwild, this was not the case.

Buck presented some extremely creative ideas which led to a much different creation process. With a few revisions, we were able to present him the final concepts to match his vision. It has since been used on t-shirts, signs, the website, and other print materials.

Website Design

To sell his product and spread the word throughout the ranching community, Buckwild Innovations needed a website.

The website began as a simple showcase of the innovations Buck and his father created. Over the next couple of years, it has evolved to support mobile devices, sell products online to customers all over the nation, and showcase more inventions. We continue to make improvements on the site to keep it up-to-date with both technology and products.

Video Production

Due to the nature of the product and early stages of market adoption, Buckwild Innovations needed to demonstrate how the product worked and would benefit customers. Throughout the course of a weekend, we filmed on location at Buck and Darrell’s farm.

Social Media Marketing and Advertising

Once we had a brand, website, and video the challenge turned to building an audience. Early on we realized that because the product was so new no one would be searching for it or keywords remotely related to it. We needed another way to put the product in front of potential customers.

For this we turned to Facebook and its extensive ad targeting capabilities. Buck had already built a page and garnered 1000 likes prior to us taking over. The problem was, the page was growing slowly and not being utilized effectively.

To build up real exposure for the brand and the product, we cut our original video down from 3 minutes in length to a 30-second commercial. Since its inception, we’ve had almost 1 million views on Facebook and we’ve grown the page to more than 11,000 likes and counting.

In both cases, our audience has been ranchers and farmers dealing with horses and cattle. We’ve also targeted the audiences of major retailers such as Tractor Supply to generate significant results.

Conclusion

To this day, Buckwild Innovations is still a client and we look forward to working with them for years to come. We cannot wait to see and experience all of the innovative ways they continue to build their business.
